Welcome to the Maine State Science Fair!

We provide high school students from public, private, parochial and home schools the opportunity to compete, collaborate with students from across our state and discuss their areas of interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with professionals working in those fields. Maine students have the opportunity to excel, win awards and discover educational and professional opportunities that they may not have otherwise been presented. Students who compete in science fairs are able to apply scientific method, articulate their points and better understand our ever-changing world; all traits that scientific and technological employers are looking for.

The top three projects (along with a mentor for each project) move on to display their research at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) where they meet fellow student scientists from all corners of the world, engage in top notch workshops and compete for amazing prizes.  Teachers have the opportunity to attend workshops for continuing education credits, socialized with your peers, and enjoy a little time away at no cost to you.

Weather you are a student, teacher or parent, alone or part of a class we are here to help with any questions or problems you may have.  The submission forms may be confusing, you may not be sure of what constitutes a good project, budget cuts make the trip impossible, or you're not sure where to begin.  Call or email and we are happy to help however we can.
