Invitation to Judge the 2014 Maine State Science & Engineering Fair

The Maine State Science Fair (MSSF) invites you to share your professional expertise to motivate Maine high school students in their pursuit of excellence in the science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) fields as a Judge at our 2014 competition.

Many high school students in Maine do not have the opportunity to talk to professionals in their fields of interest until they compete in the MSSF. Presenting their findings, receiving feedback and conversing are highly motivational to our students and can shape both their future educational and professional goals.

Your decisions will be instrumental in deciding which three projects will represent Maine ant the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in 2014.

For those of you not familiar with Intel ISEF, there are competitors from all corners of the world, giving students an eye opening cultural experience, an opportunity to create bonds that can lead to future collaboration and welcome students into a world where a love of science is accepted and rewarded.

This is an experience that most Maine students will never experience, and our winners share this experience when they return, igniting the drive for excellence in their classmates as well.
